Ooh, I think I Just Peed Myself

No seriously, I think I just peed myself. Here I am laying in bed, being all peaceful after rubbing lotion all over my belly and a sneeze just sneaks upon me. So I sneeze and pee at the same time. Ladies - if you have not experienced pregnancy yet, this is one of the many things that you have to look forward to. Your welcome.

In other news, I took an updated belly picture today. I decided that since Will always makes me look horrible in pictures, like he just points and shoots without warning, that I would take it into my own hands and take a picture using a mirror reflection. I feel like everyone needs one of those pictures anyway. Usually they are super slutty or include a bare belly but I'm a rule breaker and I kept my clothes on.
By the way, we went to yet another consignment sale this weekend and I bought the dress I am wearing for $5. The best part is that I really really like the dress!

I also have a few more teaser pictures from the babies room. We bought a crib this weekend off of craigslist and it was a STEAL!!! No seriously, we stole the crib. Ok, that's not actually true, I would be a horrible mother if I did that. It is a crib that is made in America by this company out of somewhere on the east coast. We decided to go with a non-convertible crib because the consensus seems to be that kids grow out of their cribs even if they can't. Regardless, the crib was originally purchased at the whopping price of $850 and we ended up paying $125. Pretty awesome!
This is our $25 rocking chair also off craiglist

The blanket you see in the rocking chair was lovingly made by my Grandma Clark. She said when she started it a few years back from scrap yarn she found in the basement she figured that by the time she had it finished, someone would be having a baby. Grandma's always know best. Will has also asked me to point out that my little turtle hanging from the crib railing cost more than the rocking chair. That's true but I don't care because I love him.

This weekend Will and I also ventured into the huge village of Kyle to try some local cuisine. We had doughnuts and kolache's at the doughnut/Chinese place. Yes, doughnut's and chinese are always a natural pairing. Then after a grueling day of me window shopping I stopped by the snow cone shop on my way back home and got a HUGE snow cone for just $3!

There is a Hand on my Belly!

To start, here is my first belly picture in a while. No it's not the traditional belly picture and no it's not the most flattering but here it is, so take what you can get.
Tonight I had my first hand on my belly. Obviously I'm showing if people are feeling comfortable about putting their hands on my belly. The funniest part of the whole experience was that the person actually put her hand on my belly and then proceeded to ask, "I this what I think it is". Well the response in my head was very different from the response that came out of my mouth. The polite response out of my mouth was, "yes, I am pregnant and due in August". The response in my head was more like, before you put your hand on my belly, you should have waited to confirm that yes, in fact I am pregnant and not that I just have been eating way too much ice cream! Just saying people, better to be safe than sorry.

Moving on. We have done a lot of work on the babies room. The work began with my good friend Bill volunteering to help me begin the paint job. So to take you through the process, tonight I will unveil what we started with. It was a pretty good time and given that the room started off as a teal blue and ended in yellow it took quite a few coats of paint and me feeding Bill dinner and dessert and supporting his drinking habit :-)

Moving everything out
Taped and edged

Halfway through the paint job

Yellow walls and mint green closet!

Bill being energetic and weird after all day painting

And me, exhausted and ready for bed after all day of painting

Where has the time went?

Let me start off by apologizing for my delinquency. I have been completely preoccupied with life in general and at the same time have felt like there hasn't been much to write home about since the last post. With that said, we have a lot of updates from the last week so you can expect me to update a few times this week just to avoid overloading you with over sharing.

In regards to baby here is what I have to offer. We have started referring to baby as Cooter. Now, you may hate this name but it's better than calling baby "it" and the name began this last week when my dad decided that he was going to rename everything Cooter and we thought it was funny. We have changed to a new doctor since I didn't really feel super confident with my last doctor and after spending an hour there for my first visit, I am feeling good about the change. We had our 22 week ultrasound and surprisingly stuck to our guns and didn't find out Cooters sex. We probably wouldn't have been able to anyway given that after waiting over an hour at the doctor's office (not the new doctor) to even be called back, baby was feeling shy and had it's back turned to us the whole time. We didn't even get to see a profile view and most of the ultrasound pics are just blobs of something known as a baby.

I haven't been regularly posting belly pics because I think they look horrible. My belly seems to have doubled in size this week so look for a new picture in the near future...promise. The baby's room is coming along nicely and we have all the painting done. We scored an awesome cradle from craigslist and while my parents were here last week they brought some presents from family and furnished us with some items while they were here. Yay!!!

Since my parents were here visiting all last week we were incredibly productive and did things like organized the entire kitchen, dreamed up new projects, assembled some furniture and so on. More pictures to come but here are some previews.

About Me

My photo
My husband, William and I moved to Austin in July of 2008. We own two chihuahuas and a sickly cat that will never die. We are proud homeowners in a very stepwives looking neighborhood and are friendly with almost all the neighbors (the ones we like at least). We have been blessed with one beautiful baby girl and have another baby on the way of yet to be determined gender.
